Training Services

Rehab Jigsaws’ team of experienced, skilled and professional Occupational Therapists are able to support organisations with their training provision for staff, customers, carers and employees in a number of disability related topics, moving and handling and condition awareness.

Rehab Jigsaw has worked with care and education providers, charities, disability equipment manufacturers and retailers and housing providers to provide bespoke training which is developed to reflect the organisation’s needs. This assists them to provide the best quality service possible.

Mentoring / Supervision

Rehab Jigsaw provides professional mentoring and supervision to independent Occupational Therapists. This is provided by our Directors and can include:

  • Clinical/professional supervision to help with CPD and professional practice
  • Mentoring to assist with professional development
  • Review of reports for both new to independent practice Occupational Therapists and those who are more experienced and perhaps require review of a more complex report.

Rehab Jigsaw can also provide tailored professional supervision to other health and social care professionals.

All our mentoring and supervision services can be arranged to meet the individuals needs on either a one off or regular basis with either face to face meetings or completed remotely via telephone or video conference.

Case Study – Training

Rehab Jigsaw was approached by a national charity to supply training for their volunteers who work on residential holiday schemes with their clients. The volunteers come from different backgrounds and are recruited especially for each project. The project participants have a variety of physical and learning disabilities.

Training was provided around general moving and handling principals, equipment and wheelchairs, managing challenging behaviour, communication and observation skills for support workers. A variety of teaching methods were used. Each training session included practical role play tasks, small group activities and hands on practice.

The sessions provided an opportunity for the volunteers to get to know each other and work together on real life scenarios before working at the residential projects. The project manager felt the training allowed the volunteers to develop a good consistent baseline of competency and knowledge. Feedback received stated the courses were delivered in a knowledgeable, friendly and professional manner whilst offering an inclusive, open and easy learning style.
